Housing...
Demographic research has shown that 65% of the homes in Summit County are income property or second homes that are vacant many weeks per year. The donation of these properties during open weeks is the key to the economic viable of the family respite program. At the present time, the Domus Pacis Family Respite's plan is to only operate during a portion of the year: most heavily April thru early December. The organization will host families during the winter months but are limited by the complexity of finding donated homes compared to the summer months.
One of the challenges of the organization is to have the right size house at the right time for the patient and their family. This requires us to have a wide variety of potential accommodations.
If you have a property that you could donate for our use during non-peak rental weeks, we would be so grateful if you would consider assigning the week(s) to the Family Respite. In addition, we need assistance in soliciting additional homes and look to you as our advocate... being the one-on-one "ask" from friends and acquaintances who have second homes or rental properties in Summit County would be greatly appreciated!
